Japan On-chip Damage-free Contamination-free .
A conventional cell sorter gives damage to separated cells as electric charge and collision and the damage causes great inconvenience to study the performance and characteristic of the cells. Moreover, It is impossible to perform selection of sheath liquid and sorting of the cell by various culture medium in conventional sorting.
According to the disadvantages of traditional flow cytometry ,On-chip Biotechnology developed a new type of instrument in 2012 which having great feature with easy controlling and maintenance-free, damage-free and contamination-free .The On-chip cytometer uses small pressure , even sensitive cells like neuronal cells, etc. can be sorted without damage.
In addition, this oringinal the cell sorter adopted disposable micro fluidic chips, so it can separate precious samples without any damage and loss to solve that problem and cross contamination will not arise either. Because of the disposable exchangeable micro chip , the instrument is maintenance -free. Without washing fluidic cycle ,it is simple and convenient to start using it immediately.
Using disposable exchangeable microfluidic-chip module
No requirement for sheath liquid (could use the sea water , culture, etc.)
Damage-free sorting
contamination-free (could be installed in the biosafety cabinet)
Upgrade to 3 lasers and 6 PMTs(405nm,488nm,561nm,637nm,785nm)
Simply operation, calibration-free for optical path and flow system
maintenance-free
Upgrade from On-chip Flow to On-chip Sort
Include, but are not limited to
l CTCs detection and separation
l Nerve cells sorting
l Sperm sorting
l Parasite sorting
l Regenerative cells (ES cells,iPS)
l Algae identification and separation
Other Conventional applications:
l Bacterial viability
l Cell cycle
l Apoptosis
l Side population detection
l Immunophenotyping
.....
Applications for sorting
1 Rat hippocampus cells
Hippocampus cells from rat embryo were taken and sorted by a conventional droplet sorter and On-chip Sort. Right after sorting ,cells were stained by PI to check viability.Rest of the cells were kept culture up to 7days.
Cell morphology show clear difference between cells sorted by Sorter A and On-chip Sort ,as early as day3.Cells sorted by Sorter A did not survive whole cells sorted by On-chip Sort showed strong extension of axis.
